About PlantBased16
Plant-based eating is focused on fruit, vegetables, whole grains, beans, and nuts and avoiding meat, dairy, eggs, and fish.
One of the first questions that may come to mind: why is this eating plan called plant-based and not vegan? The simple answer is that a plant-based diet grows out of a desire to live a healthier life and a vegan lifestyle is usually driven by respect for animals. Vegans usually avoid animal products in all areas of their life - avoiding animal foods and rejecting products that contain leather and fur. I fully support this choice, but it is not the reason that I choose to eat plants instead of animals. My choice came from a desire to follow the empirical evidence to lead the healthiest life possible.
